Scope

Project Overview

I need to migrate my company's website from Squarespace to Framer to establish a more sustainable, predictable, and profitable online presence. Our current Squarespace site has become outdated with over-stylized type that no longer serve our brand's evolving needs. This migration represents an opportunity to modernize the site's visual approach while maintaining the established identity I created years ago.

The new Framer-based site should feature updated typography, improved compact spacing, and a more sophisticated monochromatic design direction that moves away from the current colorful aesthetic. This strategic shift will position my company for better long-term growth and operational efficiency.

What We Don’t Like (Existing Website)

  • Huge header with a ton of padding, it just looks ugly (it also glitches out a lot).

  • Type sizing and spacing rules in the design system are everywhere.

    • We prefer to keep the rules as simple as possible, less header/spacing options the better.

    • There are numerous instances of the type in a header spanning full-width.

    • Because of all the variance, making choices when adding something new are very hard and tedious.

  • Over-stylized font, we want to use Haffer now across the board now.

  • Pages that feel just like bloat, like a dedicated FAQ page.

  • Bubbly corners, full-rounded buttons, etc. just doesn't feel modernized or utilitarian.

  • All models being listed on a single page is horrible, and navigating each model sub-type is even worse.

    • Areas that outline specs and other details are just horrifically messy. It’s a really poor UX.

  • Projects don’t feel inherently connected to the models they are based on (selling opportunity).

What We Do Like

  • Colors throughout don’t feel too stark, although we want less colors present and let the imagery speak for itself. So we can have slightly off-white, off-black, and perhaps one neutral tone to work with but let’s definitely shift more in the monochromatic direction without feeling commercial.

  • Yes, the entire existence of the company is to make sales, however, we don’t want to come across like a sales funnel company. Let the imagery and aesthetic speak for itself and organically weave in CTAs wherever we can (like you see in the wireframe examples) to get people in touch with our sales team. Our current site does a pretty good job of that, but most instances are actually broken currently.

Essential Components

  • Easy to configure and modular project and model pages that we can easily build when we have a new project or model. Some models have 2 variants, some have 6 variants. This would be very helpful.

  • Hyper-consistent design language and grid-based layout philosophy. What we build is modular, and the website should reflect that utilitarianism. We don’t want 5 header options, 15 layout options, etc.

  • Custom form (can integrate to Tally, Google Forms, etc.) so we know the sale leads are serious. Perhaps we can weave in a Cal.com integration (we can save this for later while we figure it out).

Influences (Inspiration, etc.)

    • We love the essence of this website and its easy navigation, though we find everything is a bit too big and spaced out, and the color transitions are distracting. Definitely our favorite modern example!

    • This is pretty much the same process and company as us, and our renders will soon match this level of excellence. The design and site obviously feel hyper outdated and very Squarespace. So please don’t take any notes design wise outside of ease of information and use of imagery.

    • Again the design language is minimal (which we love) and it’s really easy to find all information. We think again this reads as too Squarespace-y but the general direction is good (+ support for video).

Rough Wireframes

We welcome any and all changes, this was an extremely basic starting point. For instance, the process timeline would probably feel outdated instantly with that layout style, but you get the point overall.

Terms and Conditions

Payment Terms

To streamline project management and payments, I work through Contra, a platform specifically designed for freelancers. It’s very easy to use and works a bit like “Uber”: clients can rate my work and leave a review after each project, which helps the platform recommend me to new potential clients based on that feedback.

Through Contra, I manage everything in a professional and organized way:

  • Formal project proposals

  • Clear milestones and deliverables

  • Secure payment processing

  • Automatic invoicing and full project tracking

You can check out my profile and reviews here → My Contra Profile

To get started, I just need the email address of the person responsible for the project. Once I have it, they’ll receive the proposal directly in their inbox, with all the details ready to create a Contra account and approve/pay for the project.

For each project we can either do 100% upfront or payment can be split into two parts:

50% upfront to begin the work

50% upon delivery of the final version

Project Timeline

Please note that the timeline may vary depending on the project requirements and client feedback.

Client Resources

If applicable, the client must provide any necessary assets and materials, such as logos, images, copy, and contact information.

Project Kickoff

Work will begin only after the payment terms are fulfilled and all required client resources have been provided. Please note that the timeline may vary depending on the project requirements and client feedback.
